FTN confirms completion of sustainability analysis systems procurement

The Swedish Fund Selection Agency (FTN) has announced the completion of its procurement of sustainability analysis systems.

The selected providers are Clarity AI and MSCI, which signed contracts with FTN in January, and are set to run for an initial period of three years, with the option to extend for up to six years in total.

The systems procured are expected to be used both during the fund procurement process and for the ongoing monitoring of funds included in the premium pension platform. It is also expected to provide FTN access to more in-depth, structured information on the sustainability of funds.

With these new tools, FTN intends to strengthen its analytical capacity in the sustainability area and more effectively identify and assess relevant sustainability risks and opportunities.

The announcement of FTN’s intention to procure sustainability analysis platforms was made in July 2024, and formal procurement was confirmed in March 2025.

However, FTN cancelled and reissued the procurement in July last year as nine out of the 10 tenders were rejected because they did not meet mandatory requirements, leaving only one valid tender.

According to FTN, the systems form just one element of its overall decision-making framework. The agency will continue to conduct its own sustainability analysis and make independent investment decisions.
