Germany’s Arbeitsgemeinschaft für betriebliche Altersversorgung (aba) has re-elected Beate Petry as chair of its executive board at the organisation’s annual conference in Berlin.
Petry, who is head of global pensions and benefits at BASF SE and chair of BASF Pensionskasse VVaG, has served on the aba board since 2022 and succeeded Dr Georg Thurnes as chair in 2025.
The association also confirmed Dirk Jargstorff and Dr Claudia Picker as deputy chairs. Jargstorff is senior vice president, compensation, benefits and pensions at Robert Bosch GmbH, while Picker is managing director, human capital at Aon Solutions Germany GmbH.
Several board members stepped down following the annual meeting, including Dr Georg Thurnes, who had served on the board since 2008 and chaired the association between 2019 and 2025.
The newly elected board appointed him honorary chair in recognition of his contribution to the development of occupational pensions and the association.
Newly elected board members include Eike Burmann of Volkswagen AG, Dr André Geilenkothen of Mercer Deutschland GmbH, Dr Benedikt Köster of Pensions-Sicherungs-Verein VVaG, Hansjörg Müllerleile of MetallRente GmbH and Sabine Payne of Deutsche Bank AG.
The aba is Germany’s professional association for occupational pensions in the private and public sectors and has represented the industry for 85 years.
