Dutch financial services firm Achmea has announced that Robert Otto will step down from its Executive Board at the firm’s annual general meeting on 15 April 2027.
Otto has been with the firm for 14 years, including almost 12 as a member of the Executive Board, and has served three terms.
He first joined the company in 2013 as chair of the Non-Life & Income division and, in his role on the Executive Board, has, over the years, been responsible for various portfolios, including Non-Life & Income and Pensions & Life.
In recent years, Otto has been responsible for the Dutch health insurer, Zilveren Kruis, and online insurer, InShared, divisions, with a particular focus on international operations through the operating companies in countries including Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Slovakia and Australia.
Commenting on Otto’s departure, Achmea chair of the Executive Board, Bianca Tetteroo, said: “As a member of the Executive Board, Robert has made a significant contribution to Achmea’s international growth through his commitment and clear vision.
“He has also led his areas of responsibility, Zilveren Kruis and InShared, with great passion. Robert has a keen eye for talent and has consistently encouraged colleagues to develop their skills and make the most of their potential. We are sorry that Robert will be leaving Achmea.
“At the same time, we look forward to continuing to work closely with him in the coming period.”
Adding to this, Achmea chair of the Supervisory Board, Jan van den Berg, commented: “Throughout his career, Robert has established himself as an entrepreneurial and relationship-oriented leader.
“We are particularly grateful to him for his significant contribution to Achmea’s international development and for the commitment he has shown to this. We wish him every success in the future.”
Otto said: “Looking back on my time at Achmea already, I feel a deep sense of pride and gratitude. For 14 years, I have had the privilege of working with many dedicated and knowledgeable colleagues. Together, we have delivered strong results and taken important steps forward for Achmea. I will miss the company, and above all, the people I worked with.
“At the same time, I look forward with confidence and curiosity to the next chapter and the opportunities it will bring. In the coming period, I will remain fully committed to Achmea and will ensure that my successor gets off to a good start.”
Further information on Otto’s successor will be provided as soon as it is available.
