- PensionsEurope has collaborated with BlackRock Media to create a new digital documentary series.

The series will demonstrate the important role of funded pensions in securing better retirement outcomes for citizens across Europe. The series will show how pension funds, through their long-term investments, contribute to broader societal goals. Using evidence-based storytelling, the series will examine the work and impact of our members across 22 European countries and beyond.

These stories will be told by companies, associations, and individuals. The series will premiere during European Retirement Week 2025, from 24 to 28 November 2025. Following that, there will be a distribution campaign to provide visibility of its collective work through social media and traditional media around the world.

Commenting on the launch, PensionsEurope Secretary General and CEO, Matti Leppälä, said: “We are very pleased to contribute to this important project. Pensions are often complex and not easily accessible to citizens. We hope this project will resonate with many and help make the importance of funded pensions more tangible and relatable.”

- Smart Pension has announced a five-year agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS), as it looks to support the development of its retirement technology platform, Keystone.

Smart has used AWS’ cloud infrastructure since 2021 to scale support for its members across Europe, the US, and the Middle East. By expanding its use of AWS, Smart is expected to be able to launch Keystone across financial services enterprises in the Middle East, followed by any AWS Region globally in a "matter of hours".

As part of the new agreement, Smart will also expand its use of AWS’s data analytics, machine learning, and cloud services to support innovative product rollouts that enhance the experience for employers, employees, and customers through the Keystone platform. Smart will also use AWS' solutions for real-time data processing, in order to provide customers with actionable insights into their pension performance, helping savers plan for their retirement, and build investment strategies. In addition to this, Smart will experiment with AWS’s generative AI services, including Amazon Q for Business.
