Legal & General (L&G) has appointed Pauline Plunkett to the role of Europe managing director, with overall responsibility for L&G’s Asset Management business across Europe excluding the UK.
Plunkett joined L&G in 2014 to lead insurance client relationships, and more recently, undertook the role of chief executive officer of L&G Investment Management (LGIM) Managers (Europe) Limited and managing director of Ireland.
In these roles, she was instrumental in building L&G's presence in Dublin and across the continent, while deepening the firm's relationships with institutional and insurance clients.
Plunkett’s appointment is followed by wider leadership changes in the European business.
Giancarlo Sandrin, formerly L&G deputy head of wholesale – Europe, has been appointed as head of wholesale – Europe and Philipp Koenigsmarck has replaced him as deputy.
Additionally, L&G head of wholesale distribution, Germany and Austria, Patrik Hanser, has been appointed to undertake a newly created role, as head of digital distribution – Europe.
