Industriens Pensions appoints Dorthe Bundgaard as head of legal affairs

Danish pension fund Industriens Pension has appointed Dorthe Bundgaard as its head of legal affairs, effective 2 March 2026.

Bundgaard has over 25 years of experience in legal matters within the pension sector, having started her career at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries before moving on to the Consumer Council.

In 2000, she became a legal consultant at Insurance and Pension Denmark. She spent the majority of her career at PFA, where she worked for 22 years.

She recently served as PFA's chief legal officer, overseeing a department of over 25 employees responsible for handling regulatory and legal framework conditions.

In her new role, Bundgaard will lead the legal and compliance department, which handles a range of tasks relating to regulation and legal matters. She will also play a key role in ensuring that law and compliance as disciplines continue to create value throughout the organisation.

Bundgaard will also contribute to Industriens Pension's ongoing product development, as the department works with new legislation and regulations relevant to the pension sector.

Bundgaard takes over the position of head of legal affairs from Mikkel Holmgren, who, after many years in the role, has accepted a position outside the company.

She will report to Industriens Pension insurance director, Joan Alsing, who is pleased with the appointment.

“Dorthe Bundgaard brings extensive management experience from the industry, where she has dealt with virtually every aspect of pension and insurance law,” Alsing said.

“I am convinced that she can make a positive contribution to ensuring that we as a company continue to make good and well-considered decisions and constantly renew the scheme in the spirit of the collective agreements.”

Alsing also thanked Holmgren for his “tremendous efforts” as general counsel.

“For more than 21 years, he has contributed to the development of the pension scheme and has been a valued and trusted sparring partner for the management,” she added.
