Herman Kappelle joins Dutch Pension Funds Disputes Body Appeals Committee

The Board of the Dutch Pension Funds Disputes Body (GIP) has appointed pension law specialist, Herman Kappelle, as a member of its Appeals Committee.

Kappelle joins the committee as its fourth member, serving in a secondary role.

A lawyer and tax specialist, Kappelle specialises in pensions and other retirement provisions.

Until reaching state pension age, he served as adjunct professor of Tax Pension Law at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and as a senior adviser at asr Nederland, formerly Aegon Nederland.

He is also the owner of Herman Kappelle Fiscaal Juridisch Pensioenadvies.

The Appeals Committee is responsible for ruling on appeals submitted by both complainants and pension funds against decisions made by the GIP Disputes Committee.

Kappelle joins existing committee members Mr A. Hammerstein, Professor Dr R.J.A. Laeven, and Mr J.A.P. Veringa.

The appointment brings the Appeals Committee to four members as it continues to oversee appeals within the Dutch pension disputes framework.
