The Executive Board of pension administration organisation PGGM has appointed Georgette Fijneman as the chief executive officer (CEO) for the planned PGGM Pensioenservices.
Fijneman is currently the CEO of Zilveren Kruis as well as a member of the Supervisory Board of Dela and a board member of Kansfonds. Earlier in her career, she held various managerial positions at Achmea, Zwitserleven, SNS Reaal and SNS Bank.
She will start her new role in mid-June and succeeds Alexandra Phillippi, who has led PGGM Pensioenbeheer since 2018.
In her new position, Fijneman will be responsible for the future PGGM Pensioenservices, which will include approximately 1,000 employees and administer the pensions of nearly six million participants who are members of five pension funds: PFZW, PMT, StiPP, Bpf Schilders and Bpf Koopvaardij.
Commenting on the appointment, PGGM CEO, Edwin Velzel, said: “With Georgette, the intended PGGM Pensioenservices will have a very experienced director as CEO. It is up to her to ensure that Pensioenservices functions optimally within the Future of Pensions Act, now that we have successfully completed the transition of all our customers to this law.
“That means further developing excellent customer service, including ensuring very good participant communication on behalf of the funds we work for. I am confident that this will be realised under Georgette's leadership.”
Adding to this, Fijneman stated that it is a “wonderful challenge” to contribute to the “great social significance of a good pension”.
“PGGM is excellently positioned to achieve results for large numbers of households in connection with many parties and stakeholders,” she continued.
“Coming from the healthcare sector, I see parallels between the importance of a good pension and accessible care that benefits everyone. I see great opportunities for PGGM Pensioenservices to contribute to this."
