Folketrygdfondet appoints Kari Messel as HR director

Norway’s Folketrygdfondet has appointed Kari Messel as HR director, effective 1 May.

Messel has worked at Folketrygdfondet since September 2024 as HR manager for people and talent.

She has over a decade of experience in the SpareBank 1 group in various HR roles, most recently as a department manager at SpareBank 1 Østlandet. She has also worked at Carnegie Investment Bank.

In her new role, Messel will be responsible for the HR department at Folketrygdfondet, including organisational development, recruitment, management support and staff development. She will also become part of the management team.

Commenting on the appointment, Folketrygdfondet CEO, Kjetil Houg, said: “We are delighted to welcome Kari as our new HR Director. She has extensive experience and a thorough understanding of Folketrygdfondet and will play a key role in the organisation’s future development.”
