Danish pension provider Velliv has delivered a profit of DKK 200m after tax in the first half (H1) of 2026, a fall from its DKK 486m profit in H1 2025, its interim results have revealed.
However, the company explained that it transferred DKK 352m to customers as VellivKroner for the first time during H1, and when adjusted for this, the result is on a par with the same period in 2025 and better than budgeted.
In its interim report, Velliv reported that it has delivered the best returns amongst commercial pension providers, with the VækstPension Index returning 9.8 per cent for a customer with medium risk and 15 years until retirement.
In addition, VækstPension Aktiv returned 8.2 per cent, and VækstPension Aftryk returned 10 per cent.
According to Velliv, these returns were achieved in a half-year characterised by considerable uncertainty and significant volatility in the financial markets.
“The conflicts in the Middle East, uncertainty surrounding tariffs and trade policy, as well as high valuations amongst the largest technology companies have presented ongoing challenges for investors,” the report said.
“However, Velliv has navigated safely through the market turmoil whilst simultaneously capitalising on the opportunities that these fluctuations have continually created in the market.”
The fund’s results also showed that total payments increased from DKK 16.7bn in H1 2025 to DKK 19.3bn in H1 2026, representing more than 15 per cent growth.
Meanwhile, total customer return increased from DKK 4.7bn in H1 2025 to DKK 23.8bn in H1 2026.
The report also highlighted increased business and customer interest in the provider, with Velliv winning four out of five European Union tenders conducted in the market during the half-year.
Commenting on the results, Velliv CEO, Kim Kehlet Johansen, said: “In the first half of 2026, customers received a market-leading return totalling DKK 23.8bn across our savings products and DKK 352m in VellivKroner, whilst we delivered a solid result.
"I am also delighted that we are seeing a marked increase in interest in becoming a customer of Velliv, which confirms the strength of our overall value proposition."
