AkademikerPension excludes four arms manufacturers

Denmark’s AkademikerPension has excluded four arms manufacturers following a meeting of its Responsible Investment Committee.

The four companies are Amentum Holdings, Inc., China CSSC Holdings Ltd., China Isotope & Radiation Corp. and China National Nuclear Power Co. Ltd.

Three are Chinese and one American, all four of which are linked to the production of essential components or services for nuclear weapons outside the EU.

Commenting, AkademikerPension CEO, Jens Munch Holst, said: “Our responsibility policy prohibits us from investing in companies that produce controversial weapons, including components or services essential to the functioning of nuclear weapons outside the EU. And the data shows that all four of these companies do just that.”

However, the pension fund highlighted that the production of components that are not essential to the functioning of nuclear weapons does not result in exclusion.

In June 2025, the Board of AkademikerPension decided that European arms manufacturers would no longer be excluded on the grounds of links to nuclear weapons.

The pension fund explained that this is to support European defence and resilience, for example, in relation to the protection of critical infrastructure.
