Frank Olde Hartman appointed as director of Achmea Pensioenservices

Dutch financial services group Achmea has appointed Frank Olde Hartman as director of its Achmea Pensioenservices (APS) business, effective 1 February 2026.

APS is in the middle of a strategic transition, in which APS will be phased out by 2030 following the transition of key clients to the new Dutch pension system due to being "unprofitable".

Achema said it will continue to support its pension fund clients during the transition to the new pension system. This includes ongoing service to Centraal Beheer APF, Centraal Beheer PPI, and Stichting Pensioenfonds Achmea, while also focusing on the future development of its organisation.

Prior to this appointment, Olde Hartman was director of the Future Pensions Act (Wtp) at Blue Sky Group, where he had been at the helm since 2022 and focused on business and IT.

In addition to this, he has over 20 years of experience in the pension industry, with extensive experience in managing pension administrators and has previously held roles at IG&H and GroupLife.

He also has extensive experience with complex IT transitions within this sector, including the implementation of the Wtp.

Olde Hartman has a degree in applied mathematics and further specialised through courses at the Actuarial Institute and Nyenrode.

Commenting on the appointment, Achema divisional chairman of pensions, Tom Bottinga, said: “I am delighted to welcome Frank to our organisation. With his extensive experience and connecting approach, he is ideally equipped to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow with us and to realise our change of course. In addition, his expertise will contribute to the daily services for our customers. I wish him every success in his new role at Achmea.”

Adding to this, Olde Hartman said he is “looking forward” to starting at APS.

“I will give substance to the strategic course with great energy and enthusiasm, and support our clients in the transition to the renewed pension system. Together with the funds and my passionate colleagues, I am happy to contribute to the further development of the organisation and ensure that our customers can count on high-quality service,” he stated.
