APG announces new members of the Pension Services Executive Board

Dutch pension asset manager APG has appointed three new members to the Executive Board of APG Pension Services, bringing the board to full strength.

Inge Murrer has been appointed chief technology officer (CTO), Henk van Dijken as chief finance & risk officer (CFRO), and Esther Leegwater as chief human resources officer (CHRO).

Murrer has worked for APG since 2010 and has held various roles within the organisation over the years. She started as a trainee and later became responsible for the GroeiFabriek, APG’s innovation unit. In addition, Murrer is a board member of APG’s Global Women Forum.

Van Dijken has held various leadership and finance roles within APG and APG Asset Management, including managing director of finance. He left APG in 2021 and became an entrepreneur in the hotel sector.

Meanwhile, Leegwater has worked for APG since 2023 as a business manager and lead of the transformation office for pension services.

Last month, APG announced that Rob Schormans (CEO) and Wim Koeleman (chief client officer) were appointed to the executive leadership of Pension Services.

Commenting on the board appointments, Schormans said: “With this step, a strong Executive Board is in place that jointly provides direction for the Future Pensions Act (Wtp) transition and the associated Pension Services.

“I have great confidence in this team. It is a team with extensive experience in pensions, innovation and digitalisation, with attention for our people and close to our clients.

"Together, we will lead the transformation required to strengthen our pension services.

"In doing so, we will continue to build an efficient and agile organisation that is resilient and ready for the future.”

The new composition aims to provide the framework for a coherent management model and support the phased development of Pension Services, in line with Strategy 2030.

Once the transition to the new pension system for the eight funds for which APG works is complete, there will be scope to make these services available to other clients as well.
