Appointments update 6 February 2023

Sweden’s Seventh AP Fund (AP7) has announced that Pål Bergström will become its new chief executive officer (CEO).

Bergström will take up the position no later than 1 July 2023. He will take over from current CEO, Richard Gröttheim, who will remain as CEO until Bergström takes over the role. Bergström is currently head of large companies and institutions at Swedbank.

Finland’s Veritas has appointed Jussi Häkkinen as its new head of sustainability.

Häkkinen joins Veritas from Danske Bank, where he had worked as an ESG analyst and was responsible for integrating ESG into investment processes and decisions. He had previously worked for the Statens Pensionsfond as a portfolio manager and as an expert on responsible investment.

Dutch pension fund PMT has announced that Eunice Bronswijk will be its new employee chair.

She succeeds Jos Brocken, who had held the position since 2018. Bronswijk had previously been working for the FNV since 2006 as a union official and as a team leader of pension fund managers. Previously, she was the employee chairman of Molenaars Pensioenfonds and a board member of the pension fund for Agrarian Food Supply Trade.
