AMF appoints Sara Kilander as head of insurance

Swedish pension company AMF has appointed Sara Kilander as head of insurance, effective from 25 August 2025.

She succeeds Marie Litezings, who took up a position at Alecta in the spring.

Kilander will be responsible for customer service, insurance administration and analysis and will be a part of AMF's management team.

She comes from Afa Insurance, where she was acting head of insurance management. Prior to that, she worked at RSA Insurance and the Ministry of Finance.

AMF CEO, Tomas Flodén, said he is “pleased” that Kilander has accepted the position and is “convinced” that with her broad expertise and long experience in the insurance industry, she will lead and develop AMF’s insurance business "in an excellent way".

He also said Kilander will ensure AMF can “continue to deliver the best and most competitive occupational pensions possible to our core customers, Sweden's privately employed workers”.

Commenting on her appointment, Kilander said: “I am happy and proud to be entrusted with the responsibility as head of insurance at AMF.

“As a pre-selection company in the SAF-LO agreement area with more than four million customers, AMF has a large and important assignment.

“I look forward to using my experience of leading, developing and streamlining important operations in other parts of the collectively agreed sector, to contribute to AMF's savers receiving the best and most secure occupational pensions possible in the future as well.”
