Danish Pension company Velliv has appointed Søren Herrestrup Husted as chief commercial officer (CCO), effective 1 September 2025.
Husted replaced Morten Møller, who originally stepped in as interim CEO in 2023 after Velliv parted ways with its previous CEO, Steen Michael Erichsen, over a private investment that did not meet the company’s guidelines.
Husted, who also joined Velliv's executive board as part of his new role, previously served as sales director for the company between 2024 and 2025, and as regional and business director between 2022 and 2024.
Before this, he held roles at Aon Denmark, AP Pension and Local Pension.
Velliv CEO, Kim Kehlet Johansen, said it is a “great pleasure” to appoint the director of sales and consulting, Søren Herrestrup Husted, as CCO and member of Velliv's executive board.
“With his extensive experience from the pension industry, significant management experience and strong strategic and visionary skills, Søren has the right profile to drive Velliv's further development and ensure that Velliv becomes the preferred pension company for both customers, brokers and other stakeholders,” she added.
Commenting on his appointment, Husted said he is both “proud and humbled” to join Velliv's executive board.
“As a customer-owned company with strong values and a clear focus on customers and their needs, it is a privilege to have the opportunity to influence Velliv's further development,” he said.
“This includes the work of ensuring long-term relationships with customers, while at the same time creating value for the individual through presence and targeted, individual advice, regardless of whether the customer experience is physical or digital.”
Commenting on the departure of Møller, Johansen said that through the 11 years in Velliv – including six years on the executive board – Møller made a “significant contribution” to Velliv.
“Velliv's values – care, optimism and decency – largely reflect the imprint Morten has left on the company. We owe Morten a big thank you for his efforts,” she said.
Adding to this, Møller stated: “I am proud of the community we have created together with our customers and of the significant commercial company I have been part of over the past 11 years.
“Søren has shown over a long period of time that he is ready to take over, and I am happy to have been an active part of his development. I wish him all the best in the role.
“For my own part, I will spend the coming months finding the next right step for me. In conclusion, I would like to extend a big thank you to customers, partners and all the talented colleagues in Velliv for the good cooperation and the great support over the years."
