Swedish govt appoints Åsa Knutsson as AP4 board member

The Swedish government has appointed Åsa Knutsson as a member of the Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund’s (AP4) Board of Directors.

Knutsson has extensive experience in senior roles and as a board member, including five years on the board of The Sixth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP6).

She has also held positions at Saminvest, Industrifonden, Moment Group AB, and Fouriertransform, among others.

“We are very pleased to welcome Åsa Knutsson to the Board and the expertise and experience she brings, which strengthens our work to create long-term sustainable returns,” the fund said.

“At the same time, we would like to extend a warm thank you to the outgoing board member and chair of the risk committee, Professor Ingrid Werner, who is leaving her position for AP4 after nine years. We thank Ingrid for her great commitment and important contribution to AP4's development.”

Members of the AP Funds’ boards are appointed by law based on their ability to promote fund management. In accordance with established practice, they are appointed for one year at a time, with a limit of approximately eight years.
