Sweden’s Kåpan Pension announces CEO Marie Giertz's departure

Sweden’s Kåpan Government Employees Pension Fund has announced that its CEO, Marie Giertz, is to leave her position after six months in the role.

It is not confirmed when Giertz, who has been CEO of the pension fund since 1 February 2025, will finish as CEO. Kåpan said she has informed the board of directors that she is leaving for personal reasons to focus on her family.

“Marie has been a valued member of staff at Kåpan for many years and she has fulfilled the role of CEO well. We thank her for her valuable contributions and wish her all the best for the future," Kåpan Government Employees Pension Fund board chair, Ann Follin, said.

Before taking on the role of CEO, Giertz was deputy CEO of Kåpan and head of asset management, having worked at the fund since 2016.

Giertz, an economist, has also previously been chief economist at Svensk Exportkredit and head of analysis at Länsförsäkringars Kapitalförvaltning.
