Rexel Nederland employees transfer pension benefits to Pensioenfonds PGB

Around 400 employees of Dutch electrical wholesaler Rexel Nederland have seen their accrued pension entitlements transferred from Pensioenfonds Sagittarius to Pensioenfonds PGB.

The transfer took place on 1 October 2026 and covered approximately €33m of pension assets.

Affected employees have been accruing their new pension with Pensioenfonds PGB since 1 January 2026.

The transfer was completed following approval from De Nederlandsche Bank and the accountability body of Pensioenfonds Sagittarius.

Only employees who chose to participate had their benefits transferred, with approximately 1,200 former employees and almost 1,700 pensioners remaining with Pensioenfonds Sagittarius.

“It is the ambition of Pensioenfonds PGB to continue growing even after the transition to the new pension scheme,” said Pensioenfonds PGB board chair, Hans Veltkamp.

“This offers stability and economies of scale, and is ultimately in the interests of all our current and future participants.”

Pensioenfonds PGB said it planned to switch to the new pension system from 1 January 2027.

From this date, the new scheme will provide both solidarity-based and flexible contribution schemes.
