Provisum appoints Arie Tervoort as a board member

The pension fund for retailer C&A in the Netherlands, Provisum, has appointed Arie Tervoort as a board member on behalf of pensioners.

This is Tervoort's second term as a board member of Provisum, having previously served as a board member on behalf of employers for 10 years from 2002 to 2012. During that time, he also held the position of chairman of Provisum from 2004 to 2012.

Commenting on his return, Tervoort said: “It is nice to see that the pleasant atmosphere of that time is still there.”

However, he also noted that “everything has become considerably more complex”.

“I am not talking about the new pension scheme,” he continued. “It concerns all the requirements and rules that a pension fund, and therefore also the board, must meet today. The processes and regulations have increased and are much more complicated than during my previous term of office.”

In addition to this, he also said that the board is “more executive” and has “already had to assess various legal documents, including the pension regulations of the new scheme”.

Additionally, Tervoort has worked at Anthos since 1980 in various legal roles, currently serves as an attorney at Pels Rijcken & Droogleever Fortuijn, and has held multiple board positions throughout his career.
