PME appoints Bart Harmsen as executive director

The non-executive board of PME has appointed Bart Harmsen as an executive director of the fund, with effect from 9 March.

In his new role, Harmsen is responsible for risk management, compliance, finance, planning and control, and IT.

He has previously held various senior positions at Actiam and Shell Asset Management Company and has expertise in the areas of risk management, balance sheet and asset management, outsourcing and data management.

Commenting, PME chair of the Executive Board, Alae Laghrich, said: “We are delighted to welcome Bart Harmsen as CFRO.

"Bart’s broad expertise at the intersection of risk management and asset management aligns well with PME’s strategic direction. I am fully confident that he will be a valuable addition to the Executive Board and wish him every success.”

Harmsen said he was grateful for the trust the non-executive board of PME has placed in him.

“I look forward to working hard over the coming years to safeguard the pensions of employees in the metal and technology industries. The controlled and ethical implementation of the new pension scheme is, of course, crucial in this regard.

"In doing so, we will ensure that our future-makers continue to enjoy a good pension,” he added.
