PGGM transfers 5.8 million members to new Dutch pension system

Dutch pension administrator PGGM has transferred all of its clients to the country’s new pension system.

Effective from 1 January 2026, PGGM completed the transition for PFZW, StiPP, PMT, Bpf Schilders and Koopvaardij. Together, the schemes represent around 5.8 million participants.

PGGM said the move was the result of work undertaken with clients since the 2019 Future Pensions Act to ensure a controlled, ethical and smooth transition. The project has included policy support for funds, as well as implementation of both asset management and pension administration under the new contract.

The administrator added that efforts will continue throughout the first half of 2026 to finalise the transition process and fully embed operations within the new framework.
