PFZW-backed University Campus Spui opens in The Hague

The Dutch Pension Fund for Healthcare and Welfare (PFZW) has announced that the University Campus Spui in The Hague, which it has invested in, opened its doors in February 2026.

The fund said it selects investments that combine financial return with social value. Given this, PFZW not only invests in homes and healthcare real estate, but also in education.

The former V&D building has been transformed into a modern university building, with around 4,000 students and staff from Leiden University, TU Delft and the Open University now using the campus every day.

The building not only offers space for lectures, but also serves as a meeting place. It includes sports facilities, provides catering services and is open in the evenings and on weekends.

The fund noted that with this investment, it is contributing to accessible, high-quality education for various target groups and to a lively city centre.
