News in brief: 27 May

- PensionDanmark has found a tenant to fill the majority of its upcoming office building Bjælkehuset in Aarhus' new, sustainable district, Trælasten.

Despite it being almost two years until construction is expected to be completed, the consulting and auditing company, BDO, will inhabit approximately 6,100 square metres of the slightly more than 10,000 square metre building.

- Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) has announced the launch of its Sustainable Growth Fund.

The new fund aims to combine RLAM’s expertise in equities and fixed income to take advantage of the investment opportunities available as a result of market inefficiencies, and the undervaluation of companies that can have a positive influence on society and the environment. The fund will be managed by Mike Fox, George Crowdy and Sebastien Beguelin.

- Legal & General Investment Management Real Assets (LGIM Real Assets) has announced the final letting at 390 Strand, its building in central London.

The building is one of 19 properties in LGIM Real Assets’ Sustainable DC Property Fund and has tenants that include Ludlow Group, Sutton Architects, and Quint Events. Measures taken to enhance the ESG credentials of the building include the installation of a VRF combined heating and cooling system and a heat recovery ventilation system, LED lighting, water-saving measures including leak detection and meters installed to each floor to enable occupiers to monitor their own lighting electricity, and air conditioning usage.
