- Achmea Investment Management and ILX Management have announced a partnership to create a new investment vehicle for Dutch pension funds.
The proposed strategy will provide access to loans originated by multilateral development banks and development finance institutions, supporting the financing of companies and projects that promote sustainable economic development in emerging markets and developing economies. Most of the portfolio will be composed of loans with an explicit impact objective and a measurable contribution to societal development.
- Iceland’s Frjálsi Pension Fund has launched a new investment option, Frjálsi Innlán.
The new investment option for accumulated private pensions invests in indexed deposits. The option is available to members with supplementary savings, voluntary personal pension assets from a defined contribution pension scheme, and inherited personal pension assets who wish to transfer in whole or in part into Frjálsi Innlán. The fund suggested the option is suitable for those approaching retirement age or who have begun using their private pension for payouts, as well as those who want to minimise fluctuations in returns over a shorter period.
- The Pension Fund of Credit Suisse Group (Switzerland) has published its results for August 2026.
Its investment performance was 0.37 per cent, bringing its overall performance for the year to the end of August to 1.29 per cent. Its investment performance was -0.82 per cent in July, 0.57 per cent in June, 0.65 per cent in May, 1.03 per cent in April, -2.14 per cent in March, 1.13 per cent in February and 0.52 per cent in January 2026.
- VBV Group, Austria’s biggest retirement services group, Erste Bank and Sparkassen have linked their online portals, George and Meine VBV.
This innovation comes at a time of change in Austria’s pension industry with the country’s occupational pension provision reform. VBV Group explained that due to the reform, significantly more employees will have access to a pension fund solution in the future. Through this innovation, Erste Bank and VBV customers can now view the current value of their pension savings directly in George and incorporate it into their personal financial planning. Erste Bank is a subsidiary of the Erste Group, which also includes Sparkassen.
- Danish pension company PensionDanmark has teamed up with SquareMeter to develop new terraced houses and apartments around Haraldsgave, which previously housed the boarding section of Bagsværd Boarding School.
Bagsværd Boarding School and Gymnasium closed its boarding department in summer 2026. Squaremeter has entered into a conditional agreement with Bagsværd Boarding School to buy the land and transform it into a new residential area. The project aims to provide new homes and access to nature for residents and neighbours. The project comprises 54 owner-occupied homes divided into 44 terraced houses and 10 apartments in the Haraldsgave property. The purchase is subject to Gladsaxe Municipality adopting a new local plan that enables the use for housing.
