Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), responsible for the investments of the Government Pension Fund Global, has agreed to enter a strategic partnership with Asana Partners to invest in and operate retail properties throughout the US.

As part of the partnership, which was signed on 30 June 2026, NBIM made an equity commitment of USD 500m, equivalent to around NOK 4.9bn, and will hold a 49 per cent ownership stake.

The partnership will invest in open-air shopping centres and high streets in markets with attractive demographics across the US.

NBIM also confirmed that the partnership will invest in one or more joint ventures, each with a separate partner, and that multiple joint ventures with different partners are expected.
