Members of the employees' representative council at Iceland's Birta Pension Fund have elected two board members and one alternate member for two-year terms.
Hafliði Kristjánsson was re-elected to the fund's board as a main board member, Díana Hrönn Sigurfinnsdóttir was elected by the employees, and Unnur Ósk Eggertsdóttir was elected as an alternate member.
Kristjánsson is a sales manager at N1, a fisheries engineer by training and was first elected to the board of Birta in 2024.
Hrönn holds a master's degree in printing and a diploma in Marketing and Export Studies from EHÍ. Hrönn also works as a business manager at Prentmet Oddi.
Eggertsdóttir has served as a deputy on the board of FIT and on the central board of Samiðn. She is also a technical draughtsman by training and works for Ístak.
The election was conducted during a meeting of the workers' representative council. The newly elected board of Birta will be introduced at the fund's annual general meeting, which is scheduled to take place at Hotel Reykjavík Grand on 16 April.
