Iceland’s Birta Pension Fund has announced the appointment of its new board of directors following its annual general meeting, with N1 sales manager, Hafliði Kristjánsson, taking over as chairman of the board.
Meanwhile, Íslenskir aðalverktakar chairman, Sigurður R. Ragnarsson, was appointed as vice-chairman, replacing Hrönn Jónsdóttir, who has now left the fund.
Jónsdóttir first joined the Board of Directors of the United Pension Fund as an alternate in 2013 and has been a member of the Board of Directors of Birta Pension Fund since 2018. The fund thanked Hrönn for her service on the board and for her excellent collaboration over the years.
At an election meeting on 8 April, Kristjánsson was re-elected to the fund's board, Díana Hrönn Sigurfinnsdóttir was newly elected to the board on behalf of the employees, and Unnur Ósk Eggertsdóttir was newly elected to the reserve board on behalf of the employees.
Additionally, Þóra Eggertsdóttir and Skúli Skúlason were reappointed to the fund's board on behalf of the Business Association.
The alternate board members representing the employees are Garðar Garðarsson and Unnur Ósk Eggertsdóttir, and the alternate board members representing the Business Association are Guðbjörg Guðmundsdóttir and Kristján Sveinbjörnsson.
The main board of Birta, representing the trade unions, comprises Jakob Tryggvason, Bára Laxdal Halldórsdóttir, Kristjánsson, and Sigurfinnsdóttir.
Meanwhile, the main board of Birta, representing the Business Association, comprises Eggertsdóttir, Ragnarsson, Ólöf Linda Sverrisdóttir, and Skúlason.
