Global insurance and employee benefits intermediary group Howden has announced the launch of a dedicated Employee Benefits and Pension business in Sweden.
The business will be led by Henrik Mohlin, who will serve as head of Employee Benefits and Pension and be responsible for building and leading the Swedish Employee Benefits and Pension team.
Mohlin has over 15 years of experience in the Swedish insurance sector, spanning life insurance, occupational pensions and strategic business development.
His previous roles include business specialist life and pension at Max Matthiessen, and sales lead for the intermediary market at Folksam.
This development broadens Howden’s Employee and Benefits proposition for Swedish corporate clients and enhances Howden’s global employee benefits and pensions advisory practice, which employs 4,000 experts across 40 countries and delivers total combined revenues exceeding £500m.
Commenting on the news, Howden Sweden chief executive officer, Marie Gustafsson, said: “The launch of our Employee Benefits and Pensions business is an important addition to our capabilities, and Henrik brings the leadership, experience and market insight needed to build this capability for the long term.
“We have developed a strong corporate insurance offering in Sweden, and the time is now right to launch in the local life market by growing our capabilities to include our clients’ people agenda – helping them, as employers, strengthen their business, attract and retain talent, and respond to changing employee expectations.”
Adding to this, Howden Employee Benefits global growth solutions managing director, Mark Ramsook, said Sweden completes Howden’s Nordic footprint and “fills an important gap” in its employee benefits and pensions capability across Europe, marking another important step in the continued growth of its global practice.
Mohlin said that Howden’s ambition is to build a “genuine challenger” in the Swedish market by delivering exceptional client focus, expertise and long-term value.
“The energy and momentum behind Howden’s global Employee Benefits and Pensions division is phenomenal, and I am excited to get started and build a business that makes a real difference for Swedish organisations and their people,” he concluded.
