Gita Salden to become DNB chair of supervision

De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) executive board member, Gita Salden, is set to become chair of supervision at the Dutch central bank from 1 March 2027.

In the new role, Salden will take responsibility for areas including banking supervision, succeeding Steven Maijoor, who will leave DNB on the same date.

Salden currently oversees pension funds and insurers and integrity supervision on the DNB executive board.

The DNB Supervisory Board has begun recruiting a new director of supervision of pensions and insurers ahead of her move.

Salden joined DNB in 2024 following a career spanning both the public and private sectors.

Prior to joining DNB, she served as CEO of BNG Bank.

Earlier in her career, she also held senior roles at the Dutch Ministry of Finance, including Deputy Treasurer-General and Director of Financial Markets.
