FTN shares preliminary procurement specification for actively managed technology funds

The Swedish Fund Selection Agency (FTN) has shared its preliminary procurement specification for the upcoming procurement of global technology equity funds that are actively managed and investing primarily in large- and mid-cap companies.

Currently, there are 10 actively managed global technology funds investing primarily in large- and mid-cap companies in the “IT and communication” category on the fund platform.

The category has assets under management of approximately SEK 124bn, with the procurement set to impact around 500,000 premium pension savers.

Whilst the preliminary procurement specification has been shared in advance to allow potential tenderers to prepare and submit questions and comments, the FTN confirmed that this is only a draft and the final and governing specification will be presented when notice is made for the procurement.

The procurement itself will be announced at the earliest in late September/early October 2025, and relevant parties have until 31 August 2025 to submit questions and comments to FTN.

IT and communications was previously identified as the biggest fund category in the FTN's preliminary procurement plan for 2025, with the planned tender expected to total SEK 145.1bn.
