Dutch pension funds report mixed results for June

Two Dutch pension funds have shared their funding updates for June, reporting an increase in current coverage ratios for both.

Pensioenfonds PostNL revealed an increase from 132.5 per cent in May 2025 to 134.1 per cent in June 2025, which it credited to rising interest rates.

However, its policy funding ratio has remained unchanged at 132.1 per cent, while the current funding ratio for June is slightly lower than a year ago at 134.1 per cent.

The value of investments also decreased slightly in June 2025, which had a negative impact on the coverage ratio.

Meanwhile, the current coverage ratio for the Dutch pension fund SNS Reaal increased from 123.5 per cent to 126.9 per cent in June.

The policy funding ratio also rose from 120.1 per cent to 120.5 per cent in June.

Yet, in June, the value of its investments decreased slightly, as the firm said liabilities decreased due to a rise in interest rates.
