Stichting Pensioenfonds Medisch Specialisten (SPMS), the Dutch pension fund for medical specialists, has submitted its implementation and communication plans for its transition to the new pension system to the supervisory authorities.
The pension fund has submitted the plans to De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and the Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM), as it aims to transition to the new pension scheme on 1 January 2028.
Its plans outline how the pension fund intends to carry out the transition and how members will be informed about the changes.
The Professional Pension Association for Medical Specialists (BPMS) was the body that helped determine the structure of the new SPMS pension scheme.
BPMS engaged with members and beneficiaries of SPMS, with all agreements relating to the new scheme discussed ‘extensively’ with representatives of BPMS.
SPMS then reviewed the agreements made, developed implementation plans based on the conclusions, and executed them.
The implementation plan sets out how the pension fund will implement and run the new pension scheme, and how it plans to transition to the new system in 2028.
Meanwhile, the communication plan outlined how the pension fund would inform members about the updated pension scheme.
