Amundi appoints Guy Stear as head of developed markets strategy

Amundi has appointed Guy Stear as head of developed markets strategy at the Amundi Investment Institute.

Stear will oversee the equity and fixed-income developed markets strategists that provide analysis, research and recommendations to Amundi clients. Before this, Stear worked at Société Générale for 20 years where he held senior positions in strategy and research. Most recently, he was head of fixed-income research at Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking.

He also previously held the role of head of credit and emerging market research team in Paris from 2015 to 2018 and was the head of Asia research in Hong Kong from 2010 to 2014.

Steer started his career as a fixed-income strategist and has worked at various positions in London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Zurich at Thomson Financial and Credit Suisse.

Additionally, Steer is a CFA charter holder and holds an MBA from Insead and a Bachelor of Science in foreign service from Georgetown University. He has been a guest professor at the Paris School of Advanced Business Studies (HEC) and taught distressed debt and value investing as part of its Master of Finance programme.
