Alecta’s Fredrik Palm appointed as SPK CEO

The Board of Directors of Sweden's SPK has appointed Fredrik Palm as CEO, effective 24 August.

Palm has extensive experience in the occupational pensions sector and is an established leader with in-depth expertise in strategic asset and liability management.

He joins from Alecta, where, over the past almost 15 years, he has served as head of product and chief actuary. Before this, he was an actuary at several organisations.

SPK’s current CEO, Lars Åke Vikberg, will leave the company on 27 May and, until Palm takes up the role, Malin Dahlman will serve as acting CEO.

Dahlman has extensive experience in SPK and a strong understanding of all aspects of the business.

Vikberg is leaving SPK to take up the CEO position at Kåpan Occupational Pension. He will start his new role on 1 July.

The Board said it looks forward to welcoming Palm to SPK and has every confidence in Dahlman’s leadership as acting CEO during the transition period.
