Alecta appoints Anna Svensson as general counsel

Swedish pension provider Alecta has announced that Anna Svensson has been appointed as its new general counsel, following a period serving as acting general counsel.

She was appointed as acting general counsel following the announcement that the previous general counsel, Karin Cederbaum, would depart the company after serving in the role since September 2024.

Svensson assumed the role of acting general counsel on 13 April and also serves as an in-house lawyer at Alecta.

Commenting on the appointment, Alecta CEO, Peder Hasslev, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to recruit a new general counsel who knows the company well and has many years’ experience of legal matters within the finance and insurance sectors.”

Adding to this, Svensson commented: “I am looking forward to taking up the role of general counsel. It will be exciting to take on more overarching responsibility and gain an even broader perspective on the company.”
