Karin Cederbaum to depart Sweden’s Alecta

Swedish pension provider Alecta has announced that its general counsel, Karin Cederbaum, is leaving the company.

Anna Svensson, who serves as in-house counsel, assumed the role of acting general counsel on 13 April, replacing Cederbaum.

Svensson has several years of experience in legal matters in the finance and insurance sectors.

Commenting on the departure, Alecta CEO, Peder Hasslev, said: "We thank Karin for her efforts and commitment, and wish her the best of luck in the future.”

Cederbaum was appointed as Alecta general counsel and head of the legal department in April 2024 and assumed the position in September 2024.

She joined the provider from Säkra Spar, where she held the role of CEO and previously worked as general counsel for the insurance business area at Skandia Liv.

Prior to this, Cederbaum worked at Swedbank for just under six years, holding several senior positions in her time at the company, including head of compliance for the Swedish banking/group products.
