Sweden's AP7 selects Ortec Finance platform to enhance performance analysis

Sweden’s Seventh AP Fund (AP7) has selected Ortec Finance’s performance measurement and attribution platform, PEARL, to enhance its analysis of investment performance.

AP7, which manages Sweden’s premium pension savings, will use the platform across its global equity and fixed income portfolios.

PEARL will enable the fund to conduct advanced decision and currency attribution, providing greater insight into how investment decisions, currency exposures and hedging strategies contribute to overall performance.

The platform’s performance framework, automated workflows and reporting capabilities are also expected to help AP7 connect investment decisions and portfolio construction more clearly with realised outcomes.

Commenting on the selection, AP7 senior risk and performance analyst, Jonathan Diamant, said: “With PEARL, we see an opportunity to further develop our performance analysis capabilities.

“For AP7, this is not only about measuring returns, but about creating a clearer link between investment decisions, portfolio construction and realised outcomes.

“The platform’s flexibility will give us better tools to understand performance drivers across strategies, currencies and benchmarks, and make those insights accessible across the organisation. We look forward to working with Ortec Finance to build this capability over the coming years.”

Ortec Finance managing director, investment performance, Elske van de Burgt, confirmed that AP7 had selected the platform following an extensive procurement process.

“During the evaluation, we demonstrated how PEARL’s automated workflows, intuitive reporting interface and flexible performance framework can provide the comprehensive, transparent analytics needed to support sophisticated performance measurement, attribution and more informed investment decision-making,” she continued.

“We also look forward to partnering closely with the AP7 team, providing dedicated support to ensure they maximise the value of PEARL and achieve their performance analysis objectives.”
