Sweden's AP2 vice chair, Ingrid Albinsson, appointed as acting chair following Jatko's departure

The Swedish government has appointed Ingrid Albinsson, the current vice chair of the Second Swedish National Pension Fund (AP2) board, as acting chair of the Board of Directors, following the departure of current chair Anna-Karin Jatko.

Jatko has left AP2 after being given a new operational assignment that requires her to leave her role, a decision made by the government on 5 February 2026.

Jatko has taken over as CEO of Aktiespararna, the Swedish Shareholders' Association, an independent organisation that works in the interests of private individuals who invest in stocks, mutual funds, and other securities related to stocks.

Albinsson will remain acting chair until a new permanent chair can be appointed. She has served on AP2’s board since 2023, and in addition to her role as vice chair of the board, she holds the role of chair of the risk committee.

In addition to her roles at AP2, she also holds board and committee positions across several organisations.

These include being an LGT Capital Partners advisory board member, PRI Pensionsgaranti board member and member of the credit committee, Nasdaq Stockholm AB board member and the Knowledge Foundation member and advisor of the investment committee.

Before joining AP2 in August 2023, Albinsson served as deputy CEO and chief investment officer of the Seventh Swedish National Pension Fund (AP7) for nearly 12 years, from 2011 to 2023.

AP2 confirmed during Albinsson's appointment announcement that the fund's daily operations and ongoing change process are progressing as planned.

The AP funds have undergone significant consolidation over the past year, following the Swedish parliament's (Riksdag) approval of the Swedish government's proposal to consolidate AP funds in May 2025. The legislative amendments took effect on 1 January 2026.

The decision meant that the three Stockholm-based buffer funds have been consolidated into two, while the assets and liabilities of the Gothenburg-based Sixth AP Fund (AP6) have been transferred to the Second AP Fund (AP2).
