AMF names Juuso Korhonen as chief information officer

Sweden's AMF has appointed Juuso Korhonen as its new chief information officer (CIO) and member of the management team.

Korhonen, who holds a master's degree in economics from the University of Oulu, joins from fintech company LeanOn AB, where he was chief executive officer, and has previously held senior positions at Folksam and Nasdaq.

Korhonen succeeds Lena Ringström, who will leave AMF at the end of the year to run her own business.

Commenting on the appointment, AMF chief executive officer, Tomas Flodén, said: “IT is not just a supporting function - it is a strategic enabler for our continued development and our ability to offer our customers simple, secure and cost-effective solutions.

"Juuso’s experience in leading digital transformations and his strong business understanding make him well-equipped to lead our IT operations to the next level,” he added.

Korhonen said he was “happy and proud” to take on the role, stating: “AMF has worked successfully to create an efficient and secure IT environment, with continuous improvements for its 4.5 million customers, and I look forward to taking that work further.

"I hope that with my experience from both the insurance industry and the financial sector, I will be able to contribute to AMF continuing to challenge and be at the forefront,” he said.
