The Dutch Pension Fund for Healthcare and Welfare (PFZW) has announced that Joanne Kellermann will step down from her role as independent chair of the board on 1 July 2026.
Kellermann has held this role since June 2019, and under her chairmanship, PFZW made the switch to the new pension scheme for the healthcare and welfare sector at the beginning of 2026.
Commenting on the news, PFZW chair of the supervisory board, Jack Buckens, said: “We are going to miss Joanne enormously. The past few years, in the run-up to the new pension system, have been very intense for the board.
“Joanne has been instrumental in fostering a positive working relationship and an efficient administrative process. She played a unifying role with our administrative organisation PGGM, the Accountability Body and the social partners in the care and welfare sector.
“In addition, Joanne has consistently championed greater financial awareness, particularly among women, and the narrowing of the pension gap in the Netherlands. We at PFZW will continue to pursue that mission.”
Adding to this, Kellermann said: “It has been with great pleasure that I have fulfilled the role of independent chairman in recent years. It is a great privilege to be chairman of a pension fund like PFZW and to be able to work on behalf of all the women and men who dedicate themselves daily to care and welfare and so much more in the Netherlands.”
The process for appointing a new independent chair has begun.
