Jan V. Hansen has decided to step down from his role as Insurance and Pension Denmark’s (I&P Denmark) pension director after 19 years in the role.
According to I&P Denmark CEO, Kent Damsgaard, Hansen will step down from his role after deciding it is time to try something new.
Damsgaard thanked Hansen for his fantastic and dedicated efforts.
“Today, Denmark has one of the world's best pension systems, and there is no doubt that Jan has made several important impacts on our pension model during his time at I&P Denmark. Jan has been a skilled and extremely hard-working champion for the industry, with both great analytical capacity and political understanding,” he said.
Damsgaard also said he respected Hansen’s decision to leave and that I&P Denmark “will miss Jan both professionally and personally. I can only wish Jan good luck – and thank him for his strong and always committed efforts for the industry and for I&P Denmark”.
Hansen’s first role at I&P Denmark was as head of analysis, and then he was responsible for an increasingly broad portfolio. More recently, he held the position of director with responsibility for various areas, including pensions.
Hansen will leave the organisation during the first half of 2026, and I&P Denmark will announce the future of Hansen's responsibilities as soon as possible.
