Industriens Pension appoints new senior portfolio manager

Industriens Pension, the Danish labour market pension scheme, has appointed Simon Bjørn Rex as senior portfolio manager, effective on 7 September.

In his new role, Bjørn Rex will play an important role in the equities department, where he will be part of the team for listed foreign equities and primarily be responsible for the team's macroeconomic and strategic work.

Among other things, he will contribute to work on strategically selected investments and the overall portfolio management of Industriens Pension’s listed equity portfolio. Additionally, he will be part of the team working on monitoring and selecting external managers.

Bjørn Rex has over 15 years of experience in investment strategy, asset management and portfolio management from international financial companies in Denmark and the UK.

Most recently, he worked as a senior investment strategist at Nordea, where he was responsible for tactical asset allocation and portfolio strategy for a larger, broadly invested asset portfolio.

Before this, he held the position of investment strategist at CBRE Investment Management in London. In this role, he worked on global macroeconomic analysis, investment strategy and capital allocation across alternative asset classes such as real estate, infrastructure, private equity and credit.

He will report to Industriens Pension head of equities, Morten Rask Nymark.
