The board of supervisors of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) has elected Zuzana Silberová as its vice-chairperson, with effect from 28 January 2025 for five years.
She is Czech National Bank’s (CNB) executive director of the financial market supervision department and will replace Peter Braumüller. Braumüller is the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) managing director of insurance and pension supervision.
In addition to this, the board of supervisors has appointed German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) chief executive director for insurance and pension funds supervision, Julia Wiens, and Dutch Central Bank (DNB) executive board member of supervision, Gita Salden, as new members of EIOPA’s management board.
Wiens replaces IVASS member of the board of directors, Alberto Corinti, while Salden replaces Central Bank of Ireland director of insurance and supervision, Domhnall Cullinan.
Both will take up their roles on 1 January 2025 for two and a half years with the option to extend for an additional term.
