State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) has announced the appointment of Hein Kuijpers as vice president and head of sales for the Benelux Intermediary Business Group. Kuijpers will be responsible for driving State Street’s client relationship within the Dutch, Belgian and Luxembourg markets. He joins from Fidelity Investment International where he worked as sales director.
State Street Corporation has appointed Asser Makarem as vice president of business development for State Street’s Global Services business in the Middle East and North Africa. Makarem who will be based in Dubai joins from HSBC Bank Middle East where he was responsible for regional sales and also has industry experience with Citibank N.A UAE in Dubai and Egypt.
Stephan van IJzendoorn has joined F&C as senior portfolio manager for its Amsterdam-based Euro goverment bonds team. He has over eight years of experience in fixed income investing and joins from Allianz Global Investors where he was senior portfolio manager. Prior to that, Stephan was portfolio manager at A&O Services.
Aon Hewitt has appointed Meena Raza to lead its global benefits team in Dubai. The team provides advice worldwide to the headquarters of multinational companies on all aspects of their pension and benefit arrangements. Raza will develop propositions and solutions related to employee benefits, including governance, design and the implementation of benefits programmes in partnership with clients. She joins Aon Hewitt after eight years with Mercer Consulting and Marsh in Dubai and with 15 years’ experience of working in the United Arab Emirates.
Ric van Weelden has joined Dexia Asset Management’s (Dexia AM) executive committee and will head up its client relations & solutions department which is responsible for commercial activities across all markets that Dexia AM operates in. He has over 25 years experience in the investment industry and prior to joining Dexia AM he was chief executive officer of Janus Capital International and a partner at Watson Wyatt now Towers Watson.
