Northern Trust has appointed Annika Larsson and Erik Norland as senior relationship managers in its Stockholm office, in line with the company’s strategy of serving clients as close to their home market as possible. Earlier this month, Northern Trust also strengthened its Dutch team by appointing Wim van Ooijen as Country Head in the Netherlands.

Hewitt Associates has announced the appointment of Neville McKay to its Retirement Consulting team. McKay joins Hewitt from Towers Watson where he was responsible for advising some of the UK’s largest companies on their defined benefit schemes, in particular working with trustees to de-risk and to plan their long term funding strategy. Prior to this, Neville was head of the European Pension Advisory Group at Morgan Stanley

Elizabeth Corley, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Global Investors Europe, takes over the chairmanship of the Forum of European Asset Managers (FEAM) from Dominique Carrel-Billiard, Chief Executive Officer of AXA Investment Managers, who will continue as Vice-Chair.

Morgan Stanley has made Paul Price Head of Morgan Stanley Investment Management International Sales. He will oversee the institutional and intermediary sales, consultant relations and business development teams in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America. Price most recently worked as Global Head of the institutional business at Pioneer Global Asset Management.

The World Gold Council has announced the appointments of Johan Palmberg and Nitin Tuteja as investment research analysts based out of London and New York respectively. They both join the WGC’s international research team headed by Marcus Grubb and will focus on global markets. Palmberg joins from Lansdowne Partners, where he was an analyst with the Global Macro Fund from 2005 to 2010. Tuteja ‘s previous financial services industry experience includes working at BNP Paribas as an associate on the equity derivatives desk; and Wellington Management Company as a summer associate in portfolio management.

Jupiter is expanding its Continental Sales team in Munich, Germany with Daniel Blum. As Sales Manager Europe he will work to continue the company’s sales drive in the German, Swiss and Austrian markets. Previously Blum worked for Jupiter as a sales support assistant.

Christian Scondo has joined Mn Services as client portfolio manager. He will be responsible for ensuring that the portfolios of Mn Services’ UK clients are implemented in accordance with their investment strategy. Scondo joins from BNP Paribas Investment Partners where he was a market risk manager.

FTSE Group has appointed Luca Fillipa as Managing Director for Italy. He will lead the strategic development of FTSE’s business operations in Italy with responsibility for sales, product development and client services. Prior to appointment at FTSE, Fillipa worked at LSEG/Borsa Italiana, leading its R&D team.

F&C Investments has appointed Alexander Petrov as a Director in the Strategy team. Petrov will be responsible for portfolio management across a range of pooled and segregated multi-asset accounts including co-manager responsibility for the F&C Diversified Growth Fund. He joins from Seven Pillars Capital Management in London where he was a multi-asset Portfolio Manager for the last two years with responsibility for investment research, portfolio construction and the development and implementation of asset allocation strategies.

SEI has expanded its UK client service team with the appointment of Bruce Rogerson as a Client Service Director. Rogerson will be based in London and will report to Nigel Down, Managing Director of Institutional Client Service for the EMEA region. He will be responsible for relationship management for a number of SEI’s Fiduciary Management clients and will also focus on growing SEI’s Fiduciary Management business within the existing UK client base.

Record has announced the appointment of James Wood-Collins as Chief Executive Officer, taking on this position from Neil Record, who has been both Chairman and CEO since the IPO in 2007. Record will remain as Chairman, in an executive position. He will continue to play an active role with clients, investment consultants and other external parties, as well as maintaining his involvement with Record’s products and product development. Paul Sheriff will assume the position of Chief Operating Officer in addition to that of Chief Financial Officer, formalising a position he has fulfilled since August 2009.

Mark Krombas will be joining the portfolio advisory team of Charlemagne Capital next month. Krombas will be leaving GLG Partners, where he was the lead manager of the Ocean Equities MENA Opportunities, SGAM Fund Equities MENA and SGAM OASIS MENA Funds.

Steve Mathews has joined Mercer's Outsourcing business as a Senior Associate based in Manchester. He will be responsible for client development in the North of England and in Scotland. In his previous position he was responsible for new business nationally within the pensions division of NorthgateArinso and, prior to that, was a Business Development Manager at Aon Consulting.

MFS Investment Management has expanded its UK-based distribution team with the addition of Frederic de Merode and Catherine Villiger. De Merode joins as Director of International Accounts and will be responsible for the relationship of MFS' key European partners. Villiger joins as International Marketing Manager and will be responsible for supporting the firm's wholesale marketing efforts across Europe.

Mercer has also appointed Tina Slade to the position of Manager of the Customer Relations Centre. She will have responsibility for managing the customer care service across the UK - including the management of the Customer Relations Centre where a specialist team is dedicated to responding to customers’ enquiries. Slade has joined from Niagara Healthcare where she was Contact Centre Manager.

Tim Brooke has joined Protiviti Inc as a managing director within the London office, where he will lead the UK Internal Audit and Financial Controls (IAFC) team. Before joining Protiviti, Brooke was hired as a consultant and leader in the restructuring of Northern Rock Plc, helping to prepare the government-owned bank for private ownership.

Hermes Fund Managers has appointed Chris Taylor as Chief Executive Officer of Hermes Real Estate Investment Management Limited, based in its London office. Taylor joins Hermes from Australian-based global fund manager QIC where he was Head of European Property for the past four years.

First State Investments International
has announced three new appointments to its Infrastructure Investments team. Inderdip Syan joins as Portfolio Director from Rutley Capital Partners, where he was a Partner focusing on tax, debt and corporate structuring. Gregor Kurth joins as Senior Executive from DI Deutsche Infrastruktur, where he was an Associate with the responsibility for fund structuring and fundraising. Raphael Viallet joins as Senior Executive from 3i Infrastructure, where he was an Investment Executive focusing on financial analysis, modelling and valuation of infrastructure transactions.

Tjeerd Voskamp has strengthened the Global Financial Institutions team at Schroders. As Senior Relationship Director, he will expand and deepen Schroders’ relationships with financial institutions that have global distribution. Prior to Schroders, Voskamp worked for Threadneedle Asset Management, where he held several senior client facing roles.

Carsten Heinild has been recruited to co-head SEB Enskilda Corporate Finance in Denmark, together with Arne Due-Hansen. Carsten Heinild has a prominent background as a senior investment banker in Alfred Berg and ABN AMRO and currently heads Royal Bank of Scotland’s Danish operations. Carsten Heinild will join SEB in the first quarter of 2011.

FourWinds Capital Management has appointed Mark Rzepczynski as CEO of FourWinds’ Funds Group and Chairman of the Investment Committee for the Company’s liquid investment strategies. Rzepczynski is responsible for managing the liquid investment strategies for FourWinds, which include the Zephyr Commodity Fund, the Zephyr Liquid Commodities Fund as well as the soon to be launched Ceres Agriculture II Fund. He will also be developing new alternative investment products for the firm.

PIMCO has hired Patrick Dunnewolt as a Senior Vice President and Head of Business Development responsible for the Benelux region. Prior to joining PIMCO, Dunnewolt was manager of business development with Mn Services in the Netherlands.

Aviva Investors has announced the appointment of Jean-Francois Boulier as Chief Executive, Aviva Investors Europe. Jean-Francois Boulier is currently Chief Executive of Aviva Investors France, the largest market for Aviva Investors after the UK with more than €81bn under management. During his time as CEO he has overseen strong fund performance and asset growth in the French market and has personally been involved in a number of high profile sales successes.

Further to the announcement that Man shareholders have approved the acquisition of GLG Partners Inc., Man has announced that Emmanuel Roman will assume the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer following completion of the acquisition. Pierre Lagrange will continue in his role of Senior Managing Director of GLG, overseeing investment management and running GLG’s flagship European long short equity strategy among others. Noam Gottesman will remain co-CEO of GLG with Emmanuel Roman and will run GLG’s global opportunity strategy. Noam, Pierre and Emmanuel will report to Peter Clarke.
