Irish managed pension funds return 0.5% over November

Irish managed pension fund saw a slight growth in returns with an average gain of 0.8% in November, according to Rubicon Investment Consulting.

Following a miserable October where funds saw the worst returns since January 2016 and an average loss of 4.2%, most Irish managed funds enjoyed a mild November.

Aberdeen Standard Investments turned in the best performance with a gain of 1.3% in the past month, while Merrion Investment Managers had the lowest returns with -0.2%.

So far this year, managed pension funds have only gained 0.9%, where Merrion Investment Managers have the lowest returns of -2.7% and Davy Asset Management tops the table with a return of 3.9%.

Over the past 12 months, returns again vary and has seen returns from 4.8% (Davy Asset Management) to -2.8% (Merrion Investment Managers), averaging on 1.4% for all Irish managed pension funds.

The past three years has been a lacklustre 3.3% per annum on average, Rubicon Investment Consulting said. The five-year average return is 7.7%, while Irish group pension managed fund returns over the past ten years have on average been a strong 9.6% per annum.
