Dutch PMT acquires office building in Arnhem

PMT, the Dutch pension fund for metal and technology, has purchased a multi-tenant office building in the city centre of Arnhem in the Netherlands.

Asset manager MN purchased the building on behalf of the pension fund from Sechzigste Sachwert Holland GmbH & Co KG with the advice of Savills, Houthoff and Peutz en Herman de Groot.

The building, called De Rijntoren, or the Rhine Tower, is located opposite the central station in Arnhem, covering almost 11,000 square metres over 15 floors and is rented out to 17 different tenants. It is located next to the central station in Arnhem, with access to public transport and parking.

The building was built in 2005 together with its neighbouring tower building Parktoren and has an A-rated energy label, meeting the standards set for 2030.

Announcing the acquisition, asset manager MN said: “The purchase of De Rijntoren fits in well with PMT's investment profile. Station and inner-city locations in the best 20 office cities in the Netherlands form the core of this strategy.”

PMT’s numbers for the second quarter of 2019 revealed a coverage ratio of 97.1 per cent and a policy funding ratio of 100.8 per cent. Its total assets under management are €80.5bn.
