Cairn Capital has joined forces with OYSTER Funds, a Luxembourg fund family of Swiss banking group SYZ & CO, to launch a corporate credit fund under the UCITS III framework. The OYSTER Credit Opportunities is a long/short corporate credit fund, and targets returns in excess of EURIBOR + 200bp in normal markets and in excess of EURIBOR + 300-500bp in more volatile markets.

HIM Capital has launched the HIM Income Fund, a financials income fund targeting a six per cent yield. The financials specialist’s new fund raised around £15million in the initial marketing period, with strong support from Hiscox and a number of institutional investors. The fund was 80 per cent invested, with 48 per cent in global equities and 32 per cent in fixed income securities, at the end of October.

Barclays Capital has launched the Barclays Capital US TIPS Real Income Index Family, an index family designed for investors seeking an investment solution that provides steady inflation-protected cash flows over a specific period of time. The Barclays Capital US TIPS Real Income 2019 Index and the Barclays Capital US TIPS Real Income 2029 Index are designed to track the performance of an investment product that uses Treasury Inflation Protection Securities (TIPS) issued by the US Government. A real, predictable monthly cash flow provides investors with an explicit hedge against inflation over a certain period of time.

Neuberger Berman Group LLC has launched the Neuberger Berman Enhanced Commodities Qualifying Investor Fund. A sub-fund of the Neuberger Berman Qualifying Investor Funds plc, the fund is available for sale to European institutions and other qualifying investors. The Fund provides long-only, enhanced commodity exposure via commodity futures with equal weightings in Agriculture, Energy, Precious and Industrial Metals. The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, the administering authority for The Royal County of Berkshire Pension Fund, has seeded the Fund with an investment of approximately £45 million.
