European Mandates

May 2009

Vopak Pension Fund has awarded a €500million fiduciary mandate to BlackRock. André van den Heuvel, head of institutional sales for BlackRock’s Benelux region, said: “The decision of Vopak Pension Fund to award BlackRock this mandate is not only an important milestone for our institutional business in the Netherlands, but also internationally.”

BNY Mellon Asset Management has been awarded two global equities mandates by Japan’s public pension fund, the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF). With investible assets of around US$1.5trn, GPIF is one of the world’s largest public pension funds. GPIF appointed two BNY Mellon Asset Management boutique investment managers, Newton Investment Management Limited and Walter Scott & Partners Limited, to manage global equities ex-Japan. Each mandate will be benchmarked to The MSCI Kokusai index.
